Depending on what you plan to put on this table, the simplest design would be no legs at all. Table would be attached to the wall with hinges and also supports similar to shelf brackets on vertically oriented hinges would swing out to support the tabletop. Alternatively you can skip the supports all together if you don’t mind using a chain to support the table from above. These ideas assume that no real weight will ever get put on the table. If it needs to hold heavy things it probably needs legs, but I suppose you could still use the shelf bracket style vertical hinge and just put a leg on ‘em. More on reddit.com

Take a 2x4, lay it horizontally and screw it into the wall studs Take 4 door or fence hinges and screw it into the board with the Screw the hinges into a 3/4'' thick piece of table top Take the folding legs from a folding table and screw it to the underside of the table. I've never done something on this scale before. So here's the rundown. I wanted to make a table connected to the wall that I could at least partially fold away so we can get to the window still. Was thinking of using a 3 1/2-4 foot long, 1 inch thick, 14-16 inch wide pine board for the table. I've been trying to design this thing for awhile now.
Came up with an almost drawbridge like design but realized it's prob a bad idea as it would require me to move everything off the table, plus there is a heat dial in the way on the wall and I question the safety level. I've come up with maybe having half the table and the legs fold under the desk but that would be awkward and my bad back injury wouldn't appreciate it. I thought of having half of the table fold up to a 90 degree angle, with the legs being able to fold down so they won't be a hazard.
I've been having a lot of trouble finding hinges/brackets/etc that would work well for this. Mostly because I worry about the weight of the table working downward against the hinges I'm finding. I did find one hinge that looked like it could do the job but that would require it to be on the topside of the table. It's doable but it would look bad plus I feel it's a hazard.
Any ideas or thoughts on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Have you consider using piano hinge. This could be installed on the edge and the hinge would be the same height as the table surface.
