We use this one Safavieh Mercer Collection Lamar Wheat Tufted Headboard, King https://a.co/d/cMCf4lj Because our mattress is extra thick (almost 16") and the Thuma pillowboard is too short, even with the bolsters. It looks perfectly nice. More on reddit.com

Thoughts between wall anchored headboard vs non wall anchored? West elm beds and headboard quality.

They look the same to me, so it's about functionality. Are there curtains that need to be considered? Is there sex that needs to be considered (headboard hitting the wall)? Do you sit up in bed and read or watch tv, etc a lot? That might lean you more toward a wall-anchored head board. Do you rearranged a lot? Lastly, I can't have a full headboard like this because I need somewhere for my hand to go when lying on my stomach, like between the bars of my headboard. Do you have this issue? More on reddit.com

Best way to secure Headboard to wall

I have affixed multiple headboards to the wall using french cleats. Example The one I linked to holds up to 200lbs and will hold it flush against the wall. Since the headboard is fairly wide, you could do lighter-duty cleats on each side to more equally distribute the weight across the unit. Edit - whoops! Pasted the wrong link in the example.
