December 19, 2024Advice for an Online Order (ft. Terrible Support from Walmart)
To be completely honest, the shipping estimates you see on the website are never accurate compared to what you see on amazon. Actual shipping time can be anywhere between 3 business days to 3 weeks. The reason customer support can't do anything to expedite the process is because they literally cant. Walmart has different shippers(fedex, ups, canada post and many more) and all those shippers have different shipping times for their services. Customer service wont be able to cancel any order thats currently being processed. Realistically you really only have 1 option and its to look for a replacement right away when you get to Calgary. Bass pro shop is right by the airport as an example. When the item eventually gets shipped to the store they can cancel it right there and then and you get your refund. To answer your last question as to how Walmart is still like this in 2024. Simply put, the company is at maybe a decade behind from other online services like Amazon. Theres a big disconnect between whats sold online and what the stores have and all the logistics that come with shipping stuff around. Last piece of advice, if you know the store that your item is being shipped to. Call them and ask to talk to their OMNI team(online groceries). They're the ones who process your order in store and give you a call once your product arrives. Hope this all helps a bit PS. I'm a lead support in omni More on reddit.com
