When a curbside pickup customer “checks in” on the app while on the way to the store, what does it do on the store side?

Please for the love of God only do it if you plan on actually showing up in 30 mins max. Countless times we've had 12 people idle for the whole day which wasted our time and clogged up the system for actual people showing up. I usually stay in the car. I used to work grocery pick up and the only time the customer didn’t get in the way when I was dispensing was when it was a huge order of large items. Hey everyone, I placed a Walmart order for curbside pickup without realizing it’s designed for people with cars. I don’t have a car but still want to pick up my order. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What’s the best way to handle this?

Should I just head to the pickup area and let them know I’m on foot? Will they still bring my order out, or should I go inside and explain the situation?
