Are there any risks associated with this?
It’s a very expensive laptop. Will he scan the label on the spot and give the option to get a digital receipt sent to my phone number? Will the tracking be updated right away?
I just want to know the logistics of how this would play out.

Edit 1: to add more context, the package has a label already and it is taped.
I couldn't they yell at me if I do it, if someone else does it they would do it. Fedex still delivered an order that was cancelled. The only way was to print a return sent to me via email and send it. I put in for cancellation and that is what i got. Answer from Bubbly-Inspector-787 on reddit.com

Hey everyone. So I bought something from Walmart, and I ended up not wanting it anymore. I went through the steps on Walmart's website, printed the shipping label for the pickup, and I crossed out the other shipping label that was addressed to me and made sure that the shipping label addressed to the sender was in plain sight, taped onto the box. It was picked up yesterday, but according to the FedEx tracking system, there's no record of the tracking number that Walmart gave me. In order for me to get my refund, the package has to be scanned/picked up by a courier. I know you have to wait 24 hours for something to show up, so I did, but there's still nothing there. Does anyone else have experience with something like this?
