I think the fact that you own so few at any given time is the biggest contributor to the short life you get out if them. You are technically getting alot of wear out of them. You are just getting all at once. If you owned 4 Or five pairs they would last longer due to rotation. You could then replace them every so often, at your convenience, one at a time.
