OnePay (Walmart) released a new credit card with a similar structure to amazon where if you have the Walmart+ subscription you get 5% back on Walmart Purchases otherwise you get 3% and 1.5% on everything else. The bonus is only $35 for spending $75, but better then nothing.

Last month, I applied for the OnePay Walmart credit card that I THOUGHT was the 5% cashback with the Walmart+ card. After using this card exclusively at Walmart for over a month, I noticed I still had 0 pts. I just messaged support, and they told me that I actually have the Walmart Spend Card instead of the Walmart OnePay CashRewards card... The difference is, the one I have has NO cashback at all.
Apparently unbeknownst to me, I was not approved/eligible for the CashRewards card, so I was automatically approved for the Walmart Spend Card instead. I'm sure it was mentioned in the fine print, but I didn't notice, and I'm typically the type of person who notices such details, so I'd like to believe it wasn't obvious.
In any case, I wanted to make this post to warn people about this, so they hopefully don't have the same thing happen to them. What a waste, I spent a couple thousand thinking I was getting 5% back, and instead got 0%. At least I was quick to notice.
Anyways, it's probably for the best because the OnePay app kinda sucks anyway. While trying to get support throughout this, my chats randomly ended, and messages disappeared. The support was hilariously bad. Worse than any other I've used. I said that I have no use for a no cashback account, and if I can't get the correct one, then I'd like to close my account, and without, you know, seeing if I could get the correct one, they said they've started the process for closing my account...
Also, OnePay is the only CC I have that can't automatically sync with tools like YNAB, RocketMoney, or Monarch. I don't think it supports any connections currently. I found I wasn't the only one who went through this because there are several reviews on Trustpilot expressing the same thing.
I saw signs all over my local Walmart today about their new OnePay Credit Card. I looked into it, and learned that it earns 3% cash back at Walmart, uncapped (5% cash back if you have a Walmart+ membership) 1.5% on everything else. Issued by Synchrony Bank. SUB is a joke $35 for spending $75 in 30 days. Not a bad card if you shop at Walmart a lot and have Walmart+ membership. Figured I would share incase anyone was interested!
