I was just in Walmart, as usual prices aren't exactly by the item they represent. I usually just pull up the app and scan it.
Today after a scan attempt didn't work I figured my 5G was slow. Got on the Walmart wifi, nothing improved. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, didn't help. I did a download speed test to make sure I had connection I mean after all I just installed the app again, and I was getting over a hundred megabits a second.
Is there some bug going on with the app?? I feel like somebody would have said something on here about it.
Like the title says, several days ago the scanner on my personal phone using the Walmart App just returns the message that it couldn't find the article. Same results if I enter the bar code. I use the app quite a bit at work to verify customer claims that the online price of something is cheaper so I can usually price match it. Or else when a customer wants to know the location of something so I can find what aisle.
Other people who work with me are having no problem using the app on their phones so I am assuming the issue is with my own device. I deleted the app today and downloaded it later. Same results. And, yes, I entered my store for the location and gave the app permission to access the camera and the phone's location. I am fairly techie and know what I am doing with changes in Settings and the like. But I am stumped as to what happened to kill the app's scanner.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
What OS are you using? On IOS, there was an update on the 9th. I just tried and it’s working for me on there. Not sure if there was for android or not since I don’t own one, but it could’ve broken it and you may have to wait for a fix.
I haven’t had any issue. Even so, me@walmart’s Ask Sam is better for the most part.
The Me@Walmart app (and the normal walmart app) won't scan barcodes on my new phone. I recently upgraded to a 'OnePlus Nord N100'. Has anyone else been having issues, or fixed this?
My camera can take pictures and video fine. From searching about this problem, I've only really found people with issues of a black screen when trying to use barcode scanners, however mine has picture. I can have it lined up perfect, good lighting, not shaking, but it just wont capture it or something. The app basically has all permissions given to it. I'm not sure if I'm missing something. I've tried reinstall, and restarting the phone.
It's frustrating when people always ask for prices, and I can't scan anymore.
Hey guys, new electronics associate here.
I was getting ready to scan someone's products when the little gun shaped handheld scanner stopped working. Like, clicking the button didn't produce the little red light. I would have found a way to key in a product manually, but these people decided to also buy a village worth of food in Electronics.
The only other Electronics Associate eventually came back and he simply pressed a few buttons on the register and it was back up and running.
Anyone know what happened? Maybe it went to sleep? I'm so lost, the guy couldn't describe what he did to make the scanner start working again...
I am trying to scan barcodes with my Walmart app and it isn't working on beta 5. I've force stopped the app, checked permissions, and cleared the cache. I even restarted my phone. Any thoughts?
I have always thought that Walmart's self checkout is silly with having to still go to the Self Checkout line and all so I always avoided using it BUT today I found out how freaking useless it is.
Today I signed up W+ to try to save a few seconds at checkout cuz I was in a hurry. The app tells me what I already knew: you scan items, scan code at self checkout and then show associate the receipt. I had assumed that the associate scan is done at the door ( just like in Sam's Club) so I tried to be smart by scanning at self check out while my wife heads to the door separately.
It turns out that there is another associte scan right at the self checkout area too. I had to call my wife to walk all the way back to that area, get an associate to scan my items AND THEN another associate check your receipt at the door. That is 3 freaking scans for the same sale.
It is completely idiotic. Using self checkout as normal is way faster. This is paying for a feature that is worse than the free version.
The worst part is that it works sooo well at Sam's and that is also a Walmart company. In Sam's, a single associate scans your items randomly at the door and all is good. It is at least 3 times faster than using a register and it always shocks me how few people use Express Checkout at Sams (same story at BJ's but that has nothing to do with Walmart).
How can two sides of the same company do things sooo differently?
I have zero use for W+ other than trying to use Scan & Go. My some reason my local store wont deliver even tho it isnt far, near by Mobiles dont do the W+ discount, I already have Paramount+ without ads, and Amazon Prime still does better shipping than Walmart +. Like, what use does this silly membership even have?
Did a bit of searching and most the posts I could find were about barcode scanners and Walmart work phones.
As a customer, anyone happen to know if the Scan and Go feature on the Walmart app works with any particular Bluetooth barcode scanners? In the market for one currently as I am frequently doing 2 to 3 shopping runs per week.
My Walmart app scan code function won't focus on the bar code. Rest of the picture looks fine. No issues with normal pictures? No screen protector, have deleted and reinstalled walmart app, any settings I may be missing?
Today at Walmart I was stopped by security and accused of not scanning some items. I have some questions… the register made an alert and then they cashier cleared it and I paid. As I was walking out security asked for my receipt.
They counted my items and said 4 did not scan. They asked me to go in the office I said I had to leave to pick up my kid from school. They said it won't take long. I went with them they asked for my ID, one was nice and the other wasn't rude but had a flat affect. They gave me my ID back looked through the receipt and took out the 4 items that did not scan.they didn't contact a manager and I said I didn't realize they did not scan and they asked if I wanted to leave them or pay for them.
I said I need them and I would pay. The flat affect one told the other one to take to customer service and like 2 minutes later she walked me over. The nice one left stuff on counter and had what looked like a receipt. The flat affect one told the nice one I wanted to pay for them he then asked a customer service desk cashier to ring me up they both said have a great day and walked away.
The cashier rang me up and even let me use a coupon I said thanks and she said be blessed. I left with my items and 2 receipts and that was it. They never called a manager or made me sign anything and never brought up police. I was wondering is this it? Items were under $50 it was doubles of the same dog food for my dog and doubles of snacks that I bring for my students.
I thought I scanned twice, but I guess not.they never said anything about being banned and I ended up paying for everything. Is this it or can they do something else? They would have had to call the police to prosecute for shoplifting right? Will they send me a fine? Can they still prosecute if they didn't call police, asked me to pay and let me leave? I've never been in trouble so this makes me nervous lol. Any feedback would be great!
