What should I look for in heavy-duty shipping boxes?
Heavy-duty shipping boxes are designed for transporting heavier or bulkier items. When selecting them, consider:
- Material strength: Look for double or triple-wall corrugated cardboard for added durability.
- Size and weight capacity: Ensure the box can comfortably hold your items without risk of breaking.
- Reinforced corners and edges: These features add extra protection during transit.
- Compatibility with packing materials: Make sure the box allows space for cushioning to protect contents.
Choosing the right heavy-duty box helps secure your shipment and reduces the chance of damage.
What are the benefits of using recycled shipping boxes?
Recycled shipping boxes offer several advantages:
- Environmental impact: They help reduce waste by reusing materials.
- Cost-effectiveness: Often priced competitively, making them budget-friendly.
- Durability: Many recycled boxes are made from strong corrugated cardboard suitable for shipping.
- Variety: Available in multiple sizes to fit different shipping needs.
Using recycled boxes can be a practical choice for everyday shipping while supporting sustainable practices.
How can I pack fragile items safely in shipping boxes?
Packing fragile items requires careful preparation to reduce the risk of damage:
- Use sturdy boxes with enough space for padding.
- Wrap each item individually with bubble wrap or foam sheets.
- Fill empty spaces inside the box with packing peanuts, crumpled paper, or air pillows to prevent movement.
- Label the box as "Fragile" to alert handlers.
- Seal the box securely with strong packing tape on all seams.
These steps help protect your items during shipping and handling.

Walmart is now shipping Funko in improved boxes
Probably got tired of all of the returns. Hopefully Amazon follows, and ideally Target (the bubble wrap-around packing never seems to work out on my end).
More on reddit.comDo they sell Moving Boxes in walmart?
I used to mostly buy my steelbooks at BestBuy at the physical store to avoid the shipping damage roulette. But now that steelbooks will come from Walmart, I will have to rely on shipping. What has been your experience with Walmart? Do they use a box or a barely padded enveloppe? I anticipate experiences will vary, but go ahead, impress me Walmart, and you'll gain a customer.
Edit: thanks for the responses. TL;DR so far better than BestBuy, yeepee (I know the bar was low ;-)
Edit 2: some bad experiences being reported, so it's not all ponies and rainbows, which unfortunately means Walmart doesn't have a set policy in place to ship steelbooks.
I have a few boxes from Walmart that can be repurposed for shipping. Is this allowed?
