If I want to use a different carrier can I just put the new Verizon SIM card in my current phone and use the new SE as I wish? Or do I need to activate the SE first with the new Verizon SIM first? Or is this not an option anymore?

If you’re buying the “Verizon” model (assuming to get the $200 off deal?) I’d guess you’ll have to activate it on Verizon and it’ll be locked there for 60 days. After that you can take out the Verizon SIM and put any SIM card in. If you’re not getting a Walmart deal, as others suggested, I’d recommend just buying unlocked from Apple.

I purchased a 12 mini outright from Walmart. They sold it $50 above MRSP, plus the $29 for unlocked even tho it was locked to the carrier. I recommend purchasing from Apple directly or go to your carriers store or website.

Has anyone ever bought an unlocked iPhone @ Walmart recently? Tired of signing contract with phone companies, I’ve been getting an unlocked iPhone from Walmart.
Last year when I was going to replace my old iPhone, I was told by their associate that Walmart stop carrying unlocked iphones. All iPhones they carried have to sign contracts with phone companies. Is this true or he just didn’t know what he’s talking about?
