Title! I sleep cold and live in a poorly insulated house and cold climate. I love a super lofty warm down comforter, but it's not great for my allergies. Any suggestions? I have a Buffy all season comforter right now (I know, I know - it was gifted), and it isn't nearly warm enough.
EDIT: for anyone lurking, I decided to get a second comforter (I'm thinking L.L Bean) and put it in the same duvet cover as my Buffy one (doubling up!)
I’m sick of fighting with layers of blankets, I want ONE comforter to rule them all. I’m a cold sleeper in a cold bedroom that regularly drop below 55F in the winter. I added a wool Pendleton blanket to my cheap comforter last year and I still had to add an additional throw blanket to keep warm enough.
I’m looking for an extra extra warm comforter, one that’s so warm that I have to change it out for summer. Not remotely all season. I’m open to down or down alternative. I don’t care if it’s heavy or lightweight, or how fluffy it looks. Corner ties are an imperative, I will be using a duvet cover.
I’m willing to spend for quality that will last, up to the $750 ish range that a feathered friends duvet costs (Queen sized). But I was questioning if I need to pay that much if I don’t care about it being lightweight, I’d be happy with a heavy down alternative option if it’s just as warm.
Thanks for reading my rant/request!
