Seeking very warm comforter that isn't down
I have a down alternative comforter. It's OK. Nothing I'd recommend. I know it's not the question. Have you considered a heated mattress pad? I was hesitant, thought I'd roast, maybe feel wires. I think it's great. It has left and right sides... and foot, torso, and head zones, so very customizable. 1-10 heat. I keep feet at 2 or 3, torso at 1, head at 0. It's the nicest, most gentle heat . Yet my head remains cool. Sorry for veering away from the ask... but it might be worth consideration. More on reddit.com

Warmest comforter for winter
Something like this: https://featheredfriends.com/products/feathered-friends-bavarian-700-down-comforter?variant=20693967634486&avad=184698_d2d06ec35 But not everyone can afford a $600-$800 comforter. These items also aren't "for life". They do need to be replaced after 15-20 years. Or restuffed. Our family brought one over from Europe which was passed down to their kids. It's SO flat now and the feathers don't distribute evenly. More on reddit.com

What bedding should I buy for extreme cold?
You would probably appreciate an electric blanket. You can get ones that go between your mattress and sheet and ones that go over. It depends on your preference. Flannel is a fairly warm material for sheets. Fleece blankets, too. You want layers rather than thicker bedding. Always choose layers when you think you'll be cold. Layers trap air between them. The air warms up and insulates your body. This is true of clothing as well as bedding. So sheet, duvet, blankets, etc. (And 19c isn't cold! I live in the sub-tropics. I dream of the days the weather is under twenty.) More on reddit.com

What Is The Best Material For A Cooling Comforter?
There is no one best material for a cooling comforter, but there are a few that stand out as being the most desirable. Lightweight comforters made using down, silk, lyocell, bamboo viscose and cotton percale are all good choices. “Linen and cotton fabrics are more breathable and allow for a cooling effect, which is better if you run warm,” Dr. Abbasi-Feinberg says.
