WB clearly doesn't want to sell to Ellison. It's been rumored for a while that Zaz's favorite is Comcast, while the board is falling in love with Netflix. So basically no one at WB wants Paramount to win this thing. All the signs are pointing to Netflix now. Even the EU is now commenting on the possibility of Netflix and WB merging. This temper tantrum is only going to get worse.

Good on them. They should choose who they want to buy them. Bidding war is up to the entity being purchased.
