Honestly if you still enjoy the Washington Post, stick with it. I understand people are angry over certain things that have happened there but the reality is, the journalism field is in enough financial trouble as it is, and there are still ethical, hard-working, good journalists working at WaPo and they deserve to be supported even if Bezos gets a majority of the revenue. I get that your $19/year rate is not what is keeping the paper afloat or making any meaningful dent in journalist salaries but my view is we have to support journalism wherever we can. And the reality is, WaPo is still doing good work. There are legitimate criticisms and concerns to be had, but the same is true of any news organization. So if you're still enjoying the content, continue to enjoy it and keep the subscription. I still think AP does a great job of solid down the middle reporting. I'm based in the UK but I've been subscribed to the digital Washington Post since 2017, as I find US politics and government fascinating. I enjoy reading their news, opinions, and advice columns.
Since Bezos' overreach and crackdown on journalistic independence at the end of last year I've been meaning to cancel (it doesn't renew until August), but am stuck for two reasons:
I have got a $19/year rate, which is very good value, and I don't want to regret losing this.
I'm not sure what comparable (and more ethically acceptable) outlet I should subscribe to instead.
Can anyone offer any thoughts or advice on the above, please?

I’m not sure if they’re offering as attractive a subscription price - maybe closer to Black Friday - but Wired doing some really impressive reporting. I ended my WaPo subscription w/ a similarly great rate after the election, not missing it.
