Is watercooling worth it? My thoughts as a watercooling newbie.
I think it's really more the hobby factor. The initial investment is in no relation to anything else 😁 Maintenance with soft tubing is ok and my rig is now in the fifth year with the same fluid, not sure why you are going to change it now. But at the end hobby and the looks of it, if you're not really into watercooling because you want it, I definitely wouldn't recommend it 🤗 More on reddit.com

First PC Build, why is liquid cooling not worth it? Someone talk me out of it.
Liquid cooling will run you about 20º cooler, quieter, keep you running full speed for longer, and not block your RAM slots. Therefore I recommend.... air cooling! Liquid cooling does not run 20deg cooler. As heat dissipation is relative to surface area, watercooling with a rad about the same size as an air cooler with perform about the same as well. Water cooling does not defy the laws of thermodynamics. Water cooling is not quieter, you're literally using the same 120mm/140mm fans to dissipate heat through a heatsink, and you're also adding a pump which is not silent. You get "quieter" by oversizing the cooler, whether it's water or air cooler. By increasing surface area, you can decrease the fan speeds while maintaining same amount of dissipation. You should run at full speed for equally long. This only wouldn't happen if you were thermal throttling for some reason, and at that point the issue is an undersized cooler, not air vs water. Water does take longer to reach equilibrium due to higher specific heat and density, but that's it. The fitment issues is about the only thing correct in that statement. Air is generally recommended here as this is a help forum, where most of our advice is getting you the most out of your money (best value). This doesn't mean going with water cooling is wrong by any means, people can justify their builds however they want. We aren't going to talk you out of anything, we exist to give our opinions, advise, and provide information. More on reddit.com

Is Water Cooling Worth It? (Pros and Cons)

Yes, watercooling will get you lower temperatures than aircooling, usually quite significantly, but you'll hit diminishing returns very quickly. I mostly do it because it looks cool, I've never had a leak.

r/watercooling on Reddit: Does watercooling = performance boost?
August 27, 2023 -

Hi, recently I’ve been thinking about watercooling my 13600kf and Rtx 3090, both of the parts stay around 75 degrees while gaming. I have the Corsair 4000D AF, a be quiet 280mm aio and an MSI Gaming X trio 3090. I’m going to buy a vector 2 3080/90 trio waterblock and abp set, hyte y60, a 360mm aio and a 280mm aio, and I’m yet to decide on the rest of the parts. Recently I’ve been looking into watercooling because it seems like a really fun and cool project and a skill I want to learn if I ever want to do the same in future but does it result In higher fps? If so how big of a difference in %?

Forget about benchmarks for a second. Would you say watercooling improves PC performance anecdotally? The benchmarks seem to imply that the improvements are marginal at best, but there are a lot of hard to quantify variables here such as how does watercooled performance hold up over the years, and how does it handle dust? Do you notice less stuttering? It just seems like so much about computer performance is ultimately thermally limited so I feel like exceptional cooling should provide more performance benefit than it appears to on paper in a addition to being quieter and whatnot.

What are the benefits of watercooling for PC gaming? How much, if any, improvement in FPS can watercooling provide? - Quora
Answer: Water-cooling has no affect on FPS whatsoever, neither does air cooling. You’ve got the wrong idea on that. CPU’s get hot and needs to be kept cool so thermal paste, heat sinks and fans help reduce the CPU and environment inside the case temperature to drop.
