Thoughts on waterproof laminate for entire floor, including kitchen
Laminate flooring for bathroom, is there such a thing as waterproof?
Waterproof laminate doesn't exist. You can put a vapor barrier underneath and try and seal the top, but you won't be able to guarantee that it won't warp if you get a small leak.
Look at Vinyl tile or sheet vinyl. It would be a perfect short-term solution. Should be easy enough to peel up in the future, and will cost hardly anything. It is 100% waterproof, so no worries about spills, and will even give a bit of cushion and insulation to the floor.

In terms of flooring, he is strongly pushing for waterproof laminate and swears by it. I feel like he is not trying to upsell me and maybe he does get a small cut but I do think he is sincere.
What does everyone think about the type of laminate below? I worry that it gets scratched easily if I move appliances around the house or drag something across the floor. Plus kids.
