Is Webflow Ecommerce the Right Choice?
Webflow is definitely limited compared to Shopify for ecomm. However, for a small, supplementary inventory that doesn't need a ton of bells and whistles, it should be totally fine. Given that their business is design related, the aesthetics of the website can be a big factor for potential clients. Webflow will allow you to really stretch those wings whereas Shopify will be way more constrained.
And if Webflow ecomm becomes insufficient down the road, you can actually combine the best of both words by using Shopify Buy Buttons. Effectively, you use Shopify for your ecomm backend and embed product buttons into the webflow site.

It’s fine for a small business like selling some low volume, low demand product. If it’s a store you’re going to go full-on investing into growing quickly and good customer service and lots of flexibility for buyers I don’t recommend it. You can improve your abilities by using Foxy.io for e-commerce but it’s a much higher degree of difficulty to get even most of what Shopify is giving you standard.
I have 2 clients on Native e-commerce and 1 using Foxy so for a couple years now and they’re both a little disappointed in the experience.
