Can I hear from actual wordpress users that have jumped ship and started to use webflow? What do you like most about it? Was it easy to switch and build? Has it streamlined any processes in your workflow? Is the pain of plugin updates worth the switch? Does webflow have plugins or are they more restrictive than wordpress?
Ideally, I'm really just curious to learn why you decided to switch. thanks for sharing!
Looking for an alternative to Wordpress? Surely we can say Webflow is the professional alternative to WP. Some important difference are follows
-
In Webflow we have a deign freedom. Customization is easy. In Wordpress we restricted by templates, Coder can do customizations.
-
Code quality is good in Webflow. In Wordpress notoriously bloated because of lot of plugins.
-
Fully customizable SEO settings in Webflow. But in Wordpress we need to use plugins.
-
SSL on all sites in Webflow. Wordpress also offer free SSL, but security loop holes there, if you not properly maintain your websites are high chance to get hack.
Mates, what best you think and why?
Webflow any day, and Wordpress on Feb 30th
Big fan of Webflow and would never even entertain Wordpress.
The limit of 100 static pages on Webflow is extremely limiting though. For Marketing teams who have unique landing pages that are different enough to rule out CMS, 100 static pages can be used up very quickly and means Webflow simply can’t be used.
Hi,
I’m currently almost done coding HTML, JS and CSS of my website, but I need a CMS to update my blog or create photography albums.
However, I’m trying to find the best way to convert my site to something dynamic. I will need some plugins on Wordpress and I’m scared it would just destroy my design. For example, I need page subtitles and Wordpress only allow titles. I will also need a e-commerce in the future (like in 5 years) and I don’t want to code again and mess things up. I planned to hire someone to convert my website to Wordpress.
Whatever, Webflow seems easier in that way that you design and integrate dynamic elements faster, but I need some JavaScript files and I don’t know how many JS files you can import. Also not sure how the CMS works. Webflow is also more expensive and looks like we can’t use CMS on mobile when travelling without computer.
What would you recommend?

With a couple extra steps, you could use both.
Udesly is a service that will take a Webflow export and convert it to a WordPress, Shopify, Ghost or an 11ty + NetlifyCMS site. I just discovered it a couple weeks ago, and used it on the last site I built for a client.
The the tool is still pretty new (I think it launched in late 2019), and it takes a bit to fit your site to its requirements. But it's definitely a nice alternative to Webflow hosting for sites that are updated less frequently, or for clients who are already familiar with WP/Shopify.
There are some things it can't do yet (CMS image gallery and multiple conditions for visibility of an element are a couple I've run into), but give it a look!
Cant really offer too much advice in terms of Webflow CMS, but I design daily in Webflow mainly learning microsites. I have found Webflow to be so much easier than Wordpress. However, you do lose a lot of cool functionality as WP offers plug-ins. Although, if youre a code wiz, I assume you could package your Webflow site and inject JS functionality after into the code.
Also, in regards to CMS, I feel WP editor is easier than Webflows collection editor, but you can do a lot of cool things with Webflow, in terms of sorting etc — which to me was a little more straightforward than WP.
