Do you know the general season, too? Otherwise, I would still wait. Unless you live in an area that’s the same weather year round. That being said, if you’re that excited, there’s no harm in making appointments. And it can still be the right dress even if it doesn’t fit the particular wedding. I got married in Spring, but even if I got married in the fall I knew I didn’t want a dress with long sleeves, for instance Answer from CanIHugYourDog on reddit.com

How to Coordinate your Wedding Dress with your Venue - Amative Creative
February 21, 2022 - One tip to keep in mind is that classic shapes and silhouettes (like Carrie Bradshaw’s vintage wedding suit) will usually work in most settings and venues. Amative bride, Marcey is a perfect example of this in her classicly cut gown. Both the lines of the dress as well as the fabric are timeless and will work in almost any setting. So maybe it isn’t a mystery which should come first, the venue or the dress.

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Dress Shopping before booking the venue?
October 20, 2022 -

My fiancée and I already know where we’re getting married, and we’re just gathering the funds for booking it. It’s at an aviation museum! 😁🛩️ A lot of people say to hold off on dress shopping before booking, mainly because they don’t know what venue they’re going to have yet. But, since we already know our choice of venue, I’ve been wondering if it’s normal to book appointments for trying on wedding dresses if you, for sure, know the venue you’re going with?

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Can you look for a wedding dress without venue or date?
June 15, 2019 -

Hello all! My fiancé and I have been scoping out venues for a few months now, but to no avail. We’ll be seeing one this weekend I’m hopeful for but we’ll see. Anyways, we still do not have a firm date or venue, but we’re consistent with our wants and style, as well as thinking Fall ‘22.

We live in NC, while both of our families and friend groups live in MA. We don’t get up there that often but will be there in a few weeks. I’d love to use this time to look at dresses with my mom, and maybe my two close friends - is it too soon? Do I need to have a date or venue set?

I just really want to use this opportunity I have around my mom and friends to start looking because I don’t know when we’ll be together again... thoughts?

March 16, 2019 - Then all the women went down to the "bride's room" which was clean & bright, but not very big, and daughter put her dress on there with the photographer's assistant taking pictures of the girls and me helping her. Right after that, she did a first look with FOB (who we'd kept her dress hidden from for a year ), and then first look with the groom. After that they did a bunch of wedding pictures. The ceremony began about 2.5 hours after the time we arrived at the venue.
