Agreed. A recent email conversation with an Add-on developer revealed that the development of add-ons or even the alteration of existing add-ons is essentially frozen. Even if they wanted to fix or augment the add-on, they can't. Weebly sites should be migrated to another platform and Wordpress is the obvious place to land. However, depending on the complexity of the site, this is a non-trivial effort. Certainly, the dividends outweigh the risks especially when you're facing the uncertainty of Square's plans and the certainty that Wordpress will be around and well supported. E-commerce sites on Weebly might have difficulty justifying cutting the cord and moving to a completely new e-commerce platform, but no matter what, you've got your work cut out for you. Plan ahead for your move and keep your eyes trained on keeping interruptions to a minimum. More on reddit.com

Please avoid Weebly at all costs. I used it a few months ago, and my website was slow, had a huge bounce rate, and their service was way too expensive. I switched to Wix, and looking back to it it was a good decision. Since it's way more easier to use and it's is quite cheaper. They seem to have different prices for different regions and they might also change the pricing from time to time. It doesn't seem to be based on whether you're using the default Weebly builder or the limited Square builder, but it might vary based on the store/e-commerce part. There are quite a few alternative services that include both a website and a shop in one package, that might be both more affordable and have better support. You can check out Ecwid (has a shop and a starter site) or Shopify to see if they fit your requirements better. If you still want to keep your existing Weebly pages but move only the shop, Ecwid also works inside Weebly as an app. More on reddit.com

Hey everyone, I’ve been selling my art on ebay, facebook, etsy, etc (7 marketplaces total) I figured its time I create a website for my business
My question is if Shopify is necessary, or is the free version of Weebly just fine? (Or another platform) I know Shopify does the integration thing so if I list a product on Shopify it’ll go to my ebay, etsy, facebook stores etc which would be super nice but only a short term benefit.
Trying to keep monthly costs as low as possible as I’m already paying a few hundred in various software. The weebly free version seems it fits my needs, it has search function, categories for my items, easy checkout/payment, SEO features, only a 3% fee on sales, etc. I just feel like something is going way over my head here and it’s worth it to pay $30 a month somewhere
The site is gilbertgallery.square.site (I’ll be getting a custom domain and adding all my art, cleaning up the website etc, just created it yesterday within a hour to test its features)

Do not use Weebly! They were bought by Squarespace and they are basically letting Weebly die a death of neglect. Their support is non-existent because they just don't care. I work for a hosting company and are working to replace Weebly with another builder. That being said, other options like Wix etc might be a better way to go. On a side note, all of the page builder platforms like Wix, Weebly, Squarespace don't perform as well from an SEO standpoint as compared to a custom site built on WordPress or something else. Building a website doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg.
