More on reddit.comCalculating calorie goals, TDEE, and goal weight
Calculating TDEE is a bit of guesswork, but this does an ok job. There are various spreedsheets you could google around for that uses actual weight and calories eaten data to calculate your true TDEE, but most people don't need to be that precise.
[edit] sorry, forgot to add how to determine how much you should be eating: 500 calories under your TDEE gives you ~1lb loss per week. Women should typically eat at least 1200 a day, and you typically shouldn't lose more than 2lbs per week.
As for goals weights, it's really hard to know. Most people end up with their first goal weight as a healthy bmi or in the middle of the range, but then it starts coming down to personal preference on aesthetic and the amount of muscle you have. Body fat percentage might be a more accurate way to determine your goal. You could look at images for what people generally look like at different percentages to choose your goal and get yourself measured now and a couple times along your progress.
More on reddit.comI was browsing Reddit when I came across an old post with a link to a calculator - you input your details and the number of calories you're planning to eat daily and it comes up with a timeline for when you should hit certain weights.

I thought I'd share as I found it super accurate. I put in my starting weight and it calculated it would take me 12 weeks to get to the weight I am now (give or take 1lb) and I did indeed begin calorie restriction 12 weeks ago so it's worth a try if you're wondering how long your weight loss journey is likely to take! It also shows how your calorie deficit reduces as you lose weight which I also found really useful.
