My dad set up a teen checking account for me when I was in eighth grade. I was 16 years old. That was eight years ago. Now I’m 24 years old I got into a bad car accident and received over $40,000 and for some strange reason I only have $23,000 in my account and my dad is the only one with access to my account. They told me I need to come in with him to switch it but it’s not going to be that easy please help me.
My 16yo daughter wants her own bank account for her new job to do direct deposit. She has one through Chase 1st checking on my account. I don't really trust the big banks, but I have had this account for 20+ years. And, as an older person, I am resistant to change. But, my daughter seems to have more options than I did 20 years ago. What are some good, reputable online banks that will allow a minor to have their own checking account?
I'm a child, and soon to get my first bank account and debit card. My parents both did 20 years in the military, so we have access to USAA. I've heard good things, and not-so good things about Wells Fargo. I would mostly be making small purchases (video games, something at a vending machine, etc.), move allowance from physical cash to a transfer, and a monthly transfer to an index fund. Which would be more suitable, and a better experience? Any help is appreciated!
