Weston should be target number 1 for the state to be expanding housing. Weston is a transportation mecca. It contains the intersection of 95 and the Pike, and has route 20 right through it. It also has two commuter rail stops (Silver Hill and and Kendal Green). As of 2020, they actually had three commuter rail stops until they closed Hastings. Because of the transportation options available, Weston should ideally look more like Waltham or even more dense. However, the population density is only 674 people per square mile, which is actually less dense than Massachusetts as a whole (895/mi²)! That's outrageous and poor state planning. Compare this to Waltham with 5,118 / mi², or even Natick with 2,450 people / mi². More on reddit.com

Anyone know how Weston's population is so much more affluent than any other town in Ma? It's a little bit of an enigma to me. I've lived in Massachusetts my entire life and have never met anyone from Weston. According to Wikipedia, the median family income is $250,000+ which is significantly more than 2nd place at $205,000. The drop off is even greater after that.
Also it amazes me that a non inner-suburb would still have so much appeal in this day and age considering that with the avg home price in Weston (>2 million), you can live in Brookline, Newton, Back Bay etc very comfortably and have access to great amenities not to mention people in Weston still have to deal with traffic on 128 and the pike.
If anybody lives or has lived there please enlighten me, thanks!

Super close to Boston. Still has farms. That’s why. Plus the school system is one of the top in the state.
