Hi everyone! just passed my last course and about to order some merch off the school store..
My commencement ceremony isn't until August (Boston), do you get a diploma with the diploma cover/ presidents letter when you walk on stage? thinking of buying one but not going to if we're gonna get one at the ceremony....

Not sure if this still holds but I know one of the recent graduation ceremonies they handed out the diploma with the owl logo on it instead of the one with the gold seal. If you want to get the one with the gold seal, I recommend using your owls nest points and getting a gift card for the WGU store where you can get the one with the gold seal. You don’t get a diploma in the diploma cover/book, but I believe they automatically send you one after finishing free of charge.

I noticed WGU is selling their diploma cover online. When you get your degree does it not come with the diploma cover??? That would be really messed up if they're just sending you the piece of paper.

Sorry to break it to you, but I think that’s common for any school? I can only speak for the state of CA—I went to a UC for my undergrad and they also sent a piece of paper. My friends who went to a state college nearby also just received a paper. If you wanted a cover, it’s an additional charge through the alumni store. When I finish WGU, I would expect the same.
I think the reason being is because most people who graduate at any school, they like to frame their diploma along with their graduate portrait. I would be doing the same than put the paper in a cover. You gotta show off your hard work in your home somehow!

You get a free diploma cover if you attend commencement. Otherwise you get a piece of paper.
This is fairly typical for most schools. You get a piece paper and you're responsible for getting a cover/getting it framed.
