Does anyone know how long it takes WGU and parchment to get transcripts sent to an employer? I am finishing my master's degree and I need to submit my transcripts by a deadline set by my employer.
There have been previous posts discussing WGU GPA and transcripts. One of the discussions was about the transcript stating "GPA: This student completed each of the listed courses with a GPA between 3.0 and 4.0 on a 4.0-scale". I recently graduated and my transcript does not contain this statement, however another recent grad had it on their transcript. Turns out that WGU offers 2 different types of "official" transcripts, the Academic Transcript and the Record of Achievement Transcript.
The Academic Transcript is the the traditional type transcript that shows all the classes you attempted, with a pass or no pass indicated. This transcript does not contain the GPA statement.
The Record of Achievement Transcript shows only the attempted courses that are passed and has the statement regarding the GPA.

Comparing Transcript Types
The Academic Transcript is the traditional official transcript meaning it includes all terms, courses passed, and courses not passed. The Record of Achievement Official Transcript lists only the achievements or courses passed for each term. If a term does not have a passed course, that term will not show on the Record of Achievement transcript.
The transcripts present the GPA statement in reference to the information the transcript provides. The Academic Transcript’s key states, "Western Governors University and its state affiliates do not calculate a grade point average (GPA) or class rank." The Record of Achievement Transcript contains the statement in the transcript header, “GPA: This student completed each of the listed courses with a GPA between 3.0 and 4.0 on a 4.0-scale.”
I'm trying to have my transcripts from my previous BA degree sent over, my old college is part of the national student clearinghouse. I've sent my transcript twice, it says it was sent successfully but WGU still hasn't received it.
The admissions person I've been talking with has been less than helpful and isn't great about returning messages or calls.
Any ideas on how I can escalate this? I'm planning to start by 1 September
Is it all enrollment counselors who handle transcripts?
I hit appeal by accident. The page didn’t even load properly but somehow it entered the process of appeal.
The online form they sent wasn’t even fillable.
So I quickly decided to cancel my appeal.
Apparently they can’t just cancel it right away, they have to go through the reevaluation process all over again.
How is beginning to attend this school 10x harder than any university I’ve been to?
It’s almost the 1st and nothing has been done
There is a lot confusion about whether or not there will be a statement from WGU on your academic transcript that says that a pass is equivalent to a 3.0 GPA and I think it's confusing everyone. To try and help clear it up, I've paid the $4.60 to get a fresh copy of my official academic transcript from the National Student Clearinghouse to share. This is exactly what other schools (or whoever you need to send it to) will get if you send them an official transcript, I just sent it to myself.
There is NOT a statement about GPA on the transcript page itself where your courses and "grades" are listed. There is NOT a place where it assigns you a 3.0 GPA overall. There IS a statement in the transcript key which is attached to your official transcript when it is sent that explains that a pass in a course is equivalent to a 3.0.
It is standard for academic transcripts to include a key for the recipient that explains how to read the transcript. This page appears as an attachment to the PDF. Depending on your Adobe settings you may not see it by default. Here are instructions from NSC on how to find it. If you are sending this directly to a school via NSC, they are likely familiar with the setup already, as this is how all NSC transcripts are formatted.
Here is the first page of my transcript, (redacted, of course) opened in my free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Notice the yellow box around the Attachments section showing the Transcript Key attachment.
Here is the transcript key itself. Note the yellow box around the section "Grading System." This is where it states "Pass: Certifies successful completion of a course of study. The student has demonstrated the required competencies by passing the final assessment with a grade equivalent of “B” or better or 3.00 grade points on a 4.00 scale."
This is NOT a statement saying you graduated with an overall 3.0 equivalent. It is saying that, on a course by course basis, a Pass means you got the equivalent of a 3,0 in that course. If you have a pass for every course attempted (no "not passed") that would be the equivalent to an overall 3.0.
