r/cars on Reddit: Question: Where to find list of cars with 5-Star safety ratings?
August 9, 2017 -

So I'm looking for a comprehensive list of cars that have received NHTSA's 5-Star rating. NHTSA's site makes people search each car individually.

I'm looking for something similar to how the IIHS's website just has a page with it's TSP winners.

Google has come up with nothing that's a comprehensive list; only things like top 10's, safest cars under 30k, etc. Can someone point me in the right direction?

December 26, 2024 - Finally, the Rollover Resistance Test rounds out the assessments used in the 5-Star Safety Ratings system. This test is to determine the safety of an SUV or other vehicle in a single-vehicle, loss-of-control scenario. This assessment tests how well an automobile will resist rolling over while involved in turning maneuvers. Because rollovers are such a large part of crashes and fatalities in single-car accidents, this test is extremely important.

These tests are conducted each year on new cars, trucks, SUV models, and vans. With the 5-Star Safety Rating Program, you can compare safety features and crash performance across different models.
