Try this,
delete their contact
then
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Select the Messaging App
Choose 'Clear Data' and also 'Clear Cache'.
N.B. you will lose all data / txt msg's in your phone
(don't forget to write their number down to save as new afterwards!)

September 8, 2016 - Assuming it actually was sent using iMessage (blue bubbles), check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From and see it is set correctly. ... My wife is having the same issue. She has an iPhone 5c and tries sending me a text stating my full name and SIRI even repeats that it is sending the message to the same name she said. Then SIRI says it will send the message. I do not receive anything! And when she looks at the message it says it was sent to NULL.

Null usually means "no signal" but don't know in your case as you do not say if you are only getting the notification...and still getting the message?...or not getting the message?...or if it is happening to just one contact?...happening all the time?...or just sometimes?...etc.

You could also check on http://www.google.com/contacts and check if the address book entry for that person is missing some information.

Today I was received 2 text messages from my number that just said "null." This was right after I sent 2 text messages which seemed to go through just fine. I was wondering if anyone knows what this means? I recently blocked a number, so I'm not sure if that is related.

Answer (1 of 4): Null is a programming term like ‘this space intentionally left blank’ My guess is the program expects to find ‘timestamp’ data there to know when it was read.

On my phone it doesn't let you send a blank message but on my contact for myself it sent me a message saying null. I didn't send myself this it sent it to me and I don't know what it means.
