What is the highest thread count for sheets?
The highest thread count for sheets is usually 1,000. Anything above that number is often lower quality. In fact, a 1,000 thread count is not always a marker of quality or softness.
Is 1500 a good thread count for sheets?
A higher thread count is not always a marker of quality or softness. Anything above 1,000 thread count is likely to be of lower quality. Some manufacturers will try to use as many threads as possible, but the softness and quality of the fabric are sacrificed in the process.
Are higher thread count sheets always better?
High thread count does not always mean quality. It is more important to consider what your sheets are made of. For example, 100% bamboo fibre is much softer than 100% cotton, even if they are the same thread count. Any count over 1,000 is likely to be of lower quality.
Hotel Sheets Direct 100% Bamboo Bed Sheets - 1600 Thread Count Cooling King Sheet & Pillowcase Set, Burgundy Labeled as 100% bamboo-derived viscose
I've been told to be wary of high thread counts because they're bogus or manipulated by 2 or 3 ply weaving. But these are 100% bamboo with good reviews. So what's the catch here? Is the thread count supposed to be the cotton feeling "equivalent?"
Also, why are they $30 more expensive than these bamboo sheets?

I'm having a tough time deciding on my first bamboo set (has to be king sized burgundy with a sateen weave, and it seems like people don't like making burgundy bamboo sheets) so any help would be appreciated!
Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone knows the difference between different types of bamboo bedsheets. I was looking around for a bamboo bedsheet, I have never bought one before so curious to know what the differences are (also for a little bit of market research). Some shops describe them as bamboo sateen, while others use the word bamboo lyocell. But they are all marketed as 100% bamboo, as opposed to some other shops that say 60% bamboo and 40% cotton (or some other mix).
Also, does the thread count matter for these bamboo bedsheets? What's the ideal thread count? I think for cotton sheets it's usually 300TC for the min. standard?
