You go to the manufacturer website, look up your model (pay attention to revision numbers as well), download the latest stable _non-beta_ BIOS, put it on a FAT32 formatted USB drive and do one of the following: - use flashback function of your mobo (you'll need to rename the BIOS file to some specific string depending on the manufacturer and model; it should be specified on the manufacturer's page where the BIOS is), or - go into BIOS when the system boots and use the BIOS flash function. You'll get two different answers based on two different schools of thought on this issue. The first is the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" principle, so never update unless you're already having issues, in which case an update could fix the issue. The second is the "better safe than sorry" principle, so always update as soon as updates are available, to prevent any possible issues from arising.
