What is a domain name?
A domain is a unique name that appears after the @ sign in email addresses, and after www. in web addresses. It typically takes the form of your organization's name and a standard Internet suffix, such as yourbusiness.com or stateuniversity.edu.
Using a custom domain like "[email protected]" with Microsoft 365 can help build credibility and recognition for your brand. It may also enhance your email reputation, depending on our email provider reducing the likelihood of your emails being marked as "spam".
You can buy a domain in Microsoft 365 and we will set it up automatically, or you can buy or bring one you already own from a domain registrar.

Once again I am not sure if this is the right sub, anyway, my father recently got a new Samsung phone, and is trying to log into Outlook for work emails but we are stuck. We have no idea what the "domain\username" means, and his company gave us the wrong one by saying it was the domain (some shadik site) and his email as the username, and frankly the Microsoft support site does not cover this field. Is there any way to find or figure out what these exactly mean and if they are on his old Outlook on desktop, or something? Any help would be appreciated.
