Pantone just announced their colors of the year and while we all know this is a marketing stunt, I feel like they kind of got it this year. I genuinely thought it was going to be a dull beige because that’s how I’m feeling about the coming year so far. The combo does make sense in a metaphorical way - like the light at the end of the tunnel or the brightness in the gray that is going to be the next few months.

From the trend prediction standpoint, I think they got it right again. Yellow has been having a moment for sure - I for one have recently purchased yellow pants x2, yellow socks, a yellow throw pillow, and a couple of other yellow knick knacks. Grey has been crazy trendy for years, especially in the home design/decor sphere.
