Now that Sam’s Club has implemented the $50 minimum for shipping as of August 19th, what exactly am I paying an extra $60/year more for a Plus membership? Is it worth it?

I've always ordered at least $50 in shipped products so it doesn't really affect me, but I think you raise a valid question.

If you spend a lot of money at Sam's Club, the 2% back in Sam's Cash can cover, if not exceed, the difference between a regular membership and a plus membership. Plus, I bought a plus membership on Groupon for $60 so it wasn't that much more than a regular membership. If you like avoiding crowds and don't mind getting up early, the early access hours are kind of nice.

I saw someone say Plus has cash back that will make up the difference if you shop there enough. I plan to only use it for diapers, wipes and gas. I had Plus but I let it expire, because they added the $50 minimum and our diapers we order are only $45 and I always had to find extra stuff to add. Is shipping an option for regular membership? I assume it’d cost of course if it is an option. I tried googling it and got nowhere. It just kept saying “store delivery.” Just not sure if it’ll be worth the $110 renewal for us!

The Plus is $60 more per year (it's $110/year total vs. the Club's $50/year). A good rule of thumb to figure out if it would pay for itself is if you spend $3000 per year/$250 per month every month on purchases in store (manned register, self-checkout, or Scan & Go) excluding gift cards of any kind. At that level, you would make $60 in Sam's Cash over the course of the year. At that point or above, the Plus has paid for itself. If it's less then that, then you can start thinking if the other benefits are worth enough to you to make up that difference. Like, for example, Club level members pay a fee for all shipping, delivery, and curbside. Plus members get that fee waived if the purchase is over $50. For some that can be worth enough when combined with >$60/year in Sam's Cash. For some it doesn't. But that rule of thumb can at least give you a gauge.
