MagSafe vs Wireless Charging: Which Is Better? | ZAGG
If you’re an iPhone user comparing MagSafe chargers vs. wireless chargers, the former is generally better in most cases. When it comes to standard Lightning-based charging, it depends on what you’re looking for. MagSafe is more convenient, while wired charging offers higher speeds (wired charging speed is based on the wattage of the wall adapter and cable). Comparing MagSafe vs. standard wireless charging is entirely different.

Charging case vs portable charger?
The wireless charge overheats and is way less efficient, but of course it's super convenient being wireless. A full charge on the power bank can charge my phone completely with some left over wirelessly, along with tons of heat, or if I use the wire it can last 2+ charges.

This inefficiency is typically caused by two things: 1. Physical obstruction from the case, or 2. Poor alignment between the charger and the phone. Before you blame the charger, let's investigate your case. The failure often comes down to three things: thickness, materials, or accessories. Wireless charging (electromagnetic induction) works over a very short range, usually just a few millimeters.

For example, if you have a plastic case with a card holder on the back, the presence of many different credit or identification cards may get in the way of wireless charging.

r/GooglePixel on Reddit: Cases and wireless charging
October 24, 2021 -
Hey all,
I don't have much experience with cases (usually go naked), and the P6 will be the first phone I've owned since the Nexus 5 that has wireless charging.
Is there any issues with cases and wireless charging? Is there anything I need to keep in mind? Also, I think I will be interested in getting the pixel stand. Is there any threat that a case won't be compatible with that?

Most times wireless charging wont be affected by a case unless it is very thick. Maybe a bit of an assumption, but since you're coming from naked, I doubt any case you choose will be interfering with that.
