If you want US-made only bedding, I would stick with Supima cotton since that will be the highest quality cotton you can get from the US. I've noticed that many 'Made in America' brands that market their sheets tend to either only use long-staple cotton or just say it's high-quality premium cotton without saying that it's Supima or extra-long staple cottons. Generally, though, if you look around at most US-made brands the vast majority won't just come out and say 'this is Supima cotton' they merely imply it. Long-staple cotton is better than regular short-staple Upland cotton, sure, but ELS (or Supima) cottons are far superior and are what you will want to go with if you want the nicest, longest-lasting sheets that you can get. The only brand I managed to stumble on recently that outright says on their product pages 'Supima cotton' is Wright Bedding, so I would start there, honestly. Good luck! :) More on reddit.com

I just posted something similar on another thread. Seems as though sheets are a popular topic! I've been working in the high-end bedding industry for over 7 years and here's what I've learnt about sheets: You want the fabric to be made with 100% long stem Egyptian Cotton and woven in Europe (preferably Italy, they have the best weaving techniques in the world). You should also know that there are 2 types of weaves: Percale and Cotton Satin. Percale is more crisp and smooth, while Cotton Satin is more silky soft. It's kind of like matte versus glossy. Both are great, it just depends on the experience you prefer. As for Thread Count, you're absolutely correct, high thread count does not equal quality sheets. A 220 Percale sheet made with long-stem Egyptian cotton will be far superior than 1000 TC sheet, made with short-stem cheap cotton. I promise! Here's the truth: a set of quality sheets starts at about $300+ and it's nearly impossible to find this type of quality sheeting at a box store. I know this is a lot of money, but people should know how much the "real deal" costs. It would be like someone selling you a $50 "leather" handbag claiming it's real leather....but because everyone knows the cost of genuine leather, you would know that it's probably 'pleather'. So, when someone is claiming to sell you a $60 sheet set that's going to blow your mind...they won't. Basically, I'm just a big believer in knowing what I'm buying. Spending a little more for something that I know will last longer and provide a better experience. Quality over quantity. Based on what you're saying, I think your would prefer Percale (crisp + cool) probably in a 220 or 410 Thread Count.
