Finding the Right-Sized Dining Table For the Room
January 29, 2025 - Generally, we recommend that the dining table be at least three feet from the wall, but four feet is ideal; 2.5 feet is the absolute minimum. For example, if you had a 9x10’ room, tables with common dimensions like 42x48" and 42x60” would be ...

Dining table size?
Any furniture in the room? How many chairs? At bare minimum you'd need 24" beyond the table for chairs. If you're aiming for a space for walking behind chairs add that in. Perhaps you'd bury the table into a corner normally and center the table in the room for company. 42" deep, 72" long, 30" high. No room no maneuver around on the ends. 8 people. Maneuver requires at least 30" clearance. That drops the length to 60" which drops the number of chairs to 6. There is a book on human factors which covers this in detail. I could provide addn info from it if you're really interested. More on reddit.com

Which table for my dining room?

I love one AND two! 3 looks like it doesn’t really match the lighting. The white looks very white in the photo but I think that’s just because of it not being real obviously, but I wonder if in real life it would match so beautifully with your windows and trim color 😍

Dining room length vs table size
24” min per person 30” is more than enough It’s also good to leave some room behind everyone so 36” from the table on each side (could probably be less but that allows for people to walk around the table while everyone is eating So your table length becomes ~107” and 4 adult humans can sit comfortably on each side (~27” each) If you are more than 10 people you have the space to go with a wide table that can fit 2 at each end when needed More on reddit.com

Just moved into a new apartment—need help with layout decisions!
Dont get a huge L shaped sofa in a small space… get a normal sofa and maybe another chair. Put it against the wall, not in the middle of the room. Dinner at the bar? Or a fold out small table ? More on reddit.com
