Do women still wear khakis? Help with casual conference wear...
What to pair with khaki harem pants?
I think a simple fitted white vest top would be a safe option, or something patterned and loose vest top, maybe something like this

My style is incredibly laid back. I love skinnies and scarves and sweaters and no-fuss dresses. Rarely ever do I wear jeans (I have a lot of body issues...). My boyfriend recently made a comment that he likes how khaki pants look on women and that I should buy a pair.
Well. Hm. The only time I have ever worn khakis or tan dress pants is when I worked an office job. I'm a nurse now. I wear scrubs daily. I feel like they are not casual enough for my day to day life. I need some inspo from you all. Boot cut khakis that I can work into my daily style or tan skinnies that can be preppy enough to appease my man.
Side note: I don't an army of women telling me to "dress for myself". I do. We've been together for a year and a half and this is the first mention of women's style that he made, so I want to try it out! :-)
Thanks, ladies (and gents?)!
I'm headed to a conference this coming week. I've got my presentation outfit down pat, but I'm trying to think of something to wear the first day, when I'll be meeting several new people in my field. I know many conferences are casual enough to wear jeans, but I don't want to take that chance the first day. On the other hand, I don't want to overdress, so I'm trying to find something in-between. Do women still wear khakis, or khaki-colored pants, or should I wear something in black? Neither? Help! I am hopeless when it comes to fashion. For context, I'm a plus-size woman, about size 20 on the bottom with a defined waist and a very large bust. The weather will still be relatively cool (40s - 50s) so capris are kind of out. Thanks!
Hello, I am an 18 year old student with measurements of 34-27-33, which I put in the Body Type calculator and it came out as straight. I also have quite broad shoulders for a girl.
I recently bought a pair of 3/4 khaki harem style pants for offduty days because they're so comfy but I have no idea what to wear on the top half! I don't want to feel like I'm wearing pyjamas in public. :(
They look sort of like this: http://i.imgur.com/LuHtJN1.jpg except the bands around the top and ankles are more ruched.
What should I wear on my top half??? Thanks!

I used to have a pair, and I'd wear them with a plain fitted tshirt. It's an outfit that makes you feel ready for anything. You can dress it up a bit if needed, with say, chunky or strappy heels and bold (say chunky gold?) jewelry, or keep it casual with a pair of sneakers. You can also use a cropped solid sweater top to keep it through a chillier evening. The trick is to play with those accessories; I have broad shoulders and a more hour glass figure, so some things rock and some...well, not so much.
Lots of examples!

For casual wear, if I’m not grabbing a pair of jeans, then I’m usually grabbing some chinos. Nearly all my chinos (J Crew, Buck Mason, OrSlow, etc) are a shade of olive green. I’d like to mix it up with some chinos in other colors. Not interested in Navy.
So that leaves khaki. I particularly have my eye on the J Crew Classic Chinos in “stone” which is a light khaki.
Whenever I think of khakis I think of the gap from the 90s and looking like a Target or Best Buy worker.
Any tips on how to pair khakis or make them somewhat fashionable? Inspo pics would be cool too.
Thanks!
