What changed? The CEOs! (Windows 10 released in 2015, but that means it was in development up thru 2014..the year that Nadella took the reins from Balmer). ..and with a new boss, comes a new direction. From what I've noticed, it seems like Windows is going from an OS that your PC runs, to it slowly being a web-based service (ex. Netflix PC app updated to now just being an Edge browser wrapped web app). Not too many people like this new direction of OS as-a-service that MSFT seems to be pushing towards. So, funnily enough, Windows 10 may very well be the last OS people use...before they switch to Linux. More on reddit.com
