The battery will not damage the screen unless it starts to swell. Keep using it until it feels like it's not lasting long enough or until you get a prompt to replace it, as noted by others.

there are so many people out there that freak out about their phone being at 98% battery health or something stupid, but my iphone 11 from 2020 is on 72% battery health and it’s still going strong. still full performance on the battery as far as i can tell and no random shutdowns! even still dies at 1% instead of like 5 or 10 percent which can’t be said about a lot of phones with only slightly worn batteries (my work iphone 14 and my past phones).
anyway, at what point do i actually replace it? when can i expect problems? if i replace the battery will the phone be good for another few years? (idc about software updates and im generally very gentle with it + it’s in a otterbox defender).
i love this phone but dont want to rip myself off lol

I'm at 73% battery health and I definitely notice a difference in capacity compared to when I first bought it. I play a lot of games that drain the battery, and now I have to charge multiple times a day whereas before I could just charge while sleeping at night. AppleCare allows you to replace the battery once it's below 80% battery health, so that seems to be Apple's recommended threshold, but if you see no need to replace the battery at 72% then just hold off until you do feel the need to replace it.

i replaced mine 5 weeks ago at apple store for $89. the rep told me at 79% battery health is good time to replace. my battery health right now is 99%. my phone is plugged into my car for 15 minute drive to work and to home. i don’t know how much battery health is affected if it’s constantly plugged it.
