Amazon Returns - Sometimes No Free option For UPS Store Drop-off
Anyone else having issues with free Amazon returns saying to go to Newark?

Prime member here. Most times my free Amazon returns have the options of both the UPS Store drop-off and my local locker (both free) but occasionally those options do not appear. 4 of the 5 items I am returning gave the option for UPS Store drop-off but the 5th did not. Options for the 5th item are Amazon Store (2 hours away round trip, not an option), UPS drop-off (a big mailbox in a parking lot, $5.99) or UPS pickup ($11.99). Could someone please explain why this occurs? Yes, the local locker might be full but I cannot think of a single reason why UPS store would not be an option.
I worked it out with a 10 minute callback from customer service who agreed to send me a prepaid label but this is the second or third time I had to spend time on the phone to make what should be a free return. Anyone know why this is occurring?
I'll start by saying I've lived in Brooklyn, suburbs NJ, and now Manhattan within the last year. I've never had an issue with return location options. UPS Store, USPS, Fedex, Amazon Bookstore, Whole Foods - all have been great options for me. Until now living in Manhattan. To top it off, before working from home I worked in Manhattan and would return stuff all the time here. No matter what I do currently Amazon insists the only places I can drop off for free are some Kohls in Newark and sometimes 1 random fucking Amazon locker in Newark. I have no idea why! Amazon customer service has been able to offer me other options for free when I talk to them but I don't understand why it's gotten so hard to return things. It feels like an error because it's so absurd that it's telling me to go to different state and city and doesn't even show options for Brooklyn or Queens.
Is this happening to anyone else? I know this is a totally random rant I just really want to know If i'm not the only one.
