Laptop is charged and off.

There is nothing, no button, no sensor or anything in between the screen and the keyboard.

There is nothing on the left and right sides of the keyboard, only ports.

The top-right most key on the keyboard is blank. I thought this might be the power, but I've pressed it, held it for varying amounts of time, to no avail.

Since nothing so far has worked I suspect the power might be sensor/fingerprint-activated, but I don't know where I would have to touch in that case, and for how long.

I have turned the laptop on before, but I don't remember how.

I would share a photo, but I'm on my phone and can't send anything on reddit mobile browser.

Have you tried all this with it plugged into power? Battery might be dead.

Power button is the blank key on the top right of the keyboard. If it's the actual model series I'm thinking of, it's going to require a motherboard replacement. I am familiar with the actual issue, but I cannot disclose the information.

It's not fingerprint activated, and the power button is that circular button at the top right of your keyboard. Do you feel or hear it clicks when you press it? Can you try to turn it on while plugged in, and if that doesn't work, can you connect the power supply to another outlet and try again?

It's the small not labeled button in the upper right corner of the keyboard. Crappy design on Dell's end.

Push the fingerprint button, this powers it on. If that doesn't work, push and hold it for a few seconds.

Top right button on your keyboard. I believe that its also a Fingerprint reader which is why it has no power icon.

It looks like what's broken is the retainer just above the power button itself, which in turn appears to be part of the palmrest assembly (compare picture below).  That's likely what you'll need to replace. https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=26064

Before buying anything, take the system apart and see what's broken.  The button appears to be just a plastic trim piece over the actual power button.  If it's the switch assembly that's broken, replace it. If the actual trim piece is what's broken, note that it's unlikely to be available separately short of buying a complete assembly.
