This may be a dumb question, but my husband has one of those Medicare supplemental plans that covers 20% of brand named hearing aid. When ypu think about it, isn’t much considering a pair of HA’s can be $2,500 to $5,000 or more. So this kind of leaves clinical HA’s out. More on forum.hearingtracker.com

Sorry you never got your Jabra EP 20 hearing aids tuned properly for your ears and hearing loss. My partner had the opposite experience. She told me her EP 20s were much better sounding then her KS 10s and she could hear much better. She replaced them after only two years. I have them too and have had a great experience myself. I have tuned the streaming so it no longer sounds tinny. Rather I have nice base response and good sound across the available frequency range. We both have Androids as well. More on reddit.com

I have the PBTE Jabra Enhance Pro 20, and there's a lot I like about them. They're super durable, there's a lot of customization in the app and it's incredibly convenient, the battery lasts more than a day, no major issues with BT, and there are a lot of comfort controls you have access to in the programming software. They're solid all around. All the brands available at Costco are great and are relatively equivalent to one another; the biggest thing I'd look out for is the unique sound signature each model has. Everyone has a unique preference for sound signatures, however, I find the Jabras to be a bit flat-sounding compared to the Philips and Rexton; it seems they use this sharp tonality to add to speech clarity in the higher frequencies, and I can attest that they've absolutely helped with word recognition over the other two brands that I've demo-ed for around 1-2 months each. Sharp tonality seems to be preferred for folks with more severe losses. Adding on the fact that the background noise reduction features are super effective with proper domes/molds, if speech comprehension is your main goal, I would definitely recommend trying them out and seeing how they help with your loss. Music likely won't be "amazing" right away, but follow-up adjustment appointments can absolutely help with that. M&RIE receivers are definitely one of those things you need to try and find out; from what I've heard, the vast majority of folks don't prefer it because of feedback/poor sound quality reasons.
