OP is lazy find a bulk retailer. I got one near me where I can buy 25# bags of beans, oats, rice and flour for under $30. break it down into gallon bags of mylar with oxygen absorbers and it should keep for over 10 years. Often more than enough for a family for a few years

This is such a broad question and no single place has everything you’ll need. For medical supplies, try finding companies that supply medical centers. You can buy bulk things there, I’ve browsed. For food, you can try wholesale places like Costco for something like a 50lb bag of rice which you can then buy multiple of. Try reading the subs wiki, watching youtube videos, and joining online communities like this sub and its discord.

Given the current American political climate, I expect... bad things in the future. Probably war, shortages, etc. I want to buy things to cover our needs. I have a basement where I can store supplies. I am thinking about buying a membership at Costco/Sam's Club/BJ's to get this stuff. I was also considering Aldi's because I hear they're very cheap. Does anyone have recommendations what they best place would be for this kind of purchase? I don't know how good the deals are at these warehouses.
Here's some of the stuff I am looking to get: Canned food, flour, yeast, powdered milk, oil, toilet paper, matches.
Similarly, what are some things that I should get if I am anticipating shortages? I can't store fire hazards (gasoline, propane, etc)

I float on this subreddit a lot but don’t post or comment. I understand that things can feel scary but shortages in food are caused by what you are doing. The reason we couldn’t get toilet paper during covid was due to people buying ungodly amounts of it because they thought they were being “prepared”. But in reality, some people had a lot and some people had none because of it. I’m not necessarily trying to sway you away from buying things in bulk and living frugally, but think about how much you actually need.

Just be mindful that stuff goes bad, so you stockpiling just means you have to consume it soonish or you are out the money anyway. Just consume mindfully. Maybe come up with a plan where you don't need some of that stuff. Buy a bidet. Start growing some of your own food. Try to consume less where you can.

there's a site called popgot dot com (sorry, no links) that lets you search for whatever you want online and it will go out and search the major retailers and compare their unit price in a consistent unit. it's a pretty great hack to save money and the best way to find the cheapest stuff per unit.

We're starting a small business and need a few things in large quantities. For example, we need 100,000 double-sided mounting tape squares, and I'm willing to pay for a good brand like Gorilla, and would rather not get it from overseas.
