The movie was taken off Netflix in my country and is on no other streaming services. I don't want to bother with a VPN, does anyone have a google drive link or anywhere I can view it online? Thank you!
With all the reservations we have about P&P, (2005), I still can't stop watching this. This has become a monthly ritual for me. I watch it every month nit-pick stuff, proceed to read the book again and then repeat every single month. I think I may have a problem now.

There was a recent post about where to watch P&P. I can’t speak for those that have other streaming sticks but if you have a Roku, it is available for free (with ads).
Also streaming on Peacock but I believe you have to be a paid subscriber.
Hello! I just finished watch Pride and Prejudice (2005) on my birthday and I love it! Now I want to watch the 1995 version because everyone say it's also great and much more accurate and slow-burn!
Where to watch it? Any streaming platforms or sites if possible. Thank you!
I have found the version with Keira Knightley and Matthew McFadyen on Peacock. Does anyone know where to find the complete version with Hugh Grant and the version with Colin Firth? And what other versions have you seen? I know I have seen some of them, but it has been so long ago that I would like to watch them again.
i was kinda disappointed. it definitely wasn’t bad, but i don’t know if i would describe it as good either. is this sacrilegious of me to say? there was beautiful cinematography and set pieces; i particularly enjoyed the hectic but wholesome quality of the Bennets’ home, but i found the fashion and the hair to be rather drab and hardly historically accurate. i also thought the acting was kind of awkward and overly saccharine. i’m actually surprised to say that i didn’t even like Kiera Knightley in this. She had the weirdest mannerisms as Lizzie and constantly paused and laughed at absolutely nothing funny. in particular, when Darcy notices her watching him and his sister at the piano and in the end, when she’s trying to explain to Mr. Bennet how much she loves Darcy. it was like watching an alien trying to act like a human. i don’t usually feel this way about Kiera though (she was excellent in the biopics about Colette and Coco Chanel) so i can only assume it was the director. of course i couldn’t be sure, but those are the impressions i got, especially since quite a few of the other actors behaved similarly (pretty much all of the Bennet sisters and Bingley as well). the scene with Bingley mimicking his apology to Darcy was especially silly imo.
in comparison to Emma (2020) especially, with its beautiful and painstakingly historically accurate costumes and hair and excellent acting and cinematography, P & P (2005) just felt especially lackluster. am i the only one who feels this way?
In the r/prideandprejudice, there are definitely devotees of the 2005 version. The cinematography is gorgeous. I think Kiera is so stunning that I cannot imagine a man calling her tolerable. I also hate how stupid they make Bingley. I prefer the 1995 version but the 2005 version has a place in my heart too. The producers clearly loved the book too so cannot fault them if their vision is different than mine
As a standalone movie, it is quite good. As a Jane Austen P & P adaptation, it is quite off in so many ways.
Girls' clothes are so very drab, their house looks like it has been neglected for years, Mrs Bennet looks like a peasant and acts as one. Then Keira's Lizzie is not very true to the novel, Charlotte becomes silly after marrying, and Bingley is a bumbling idiot.
In case you haven't heard and you like that version! It's finally streamable somewhere! (At least in the US it is)
I don’t really care about accuracy to the book, objectively which one is more interesting to watch independent of its accuracy to the book?
Update: I watched the movie and absolutely LOVED it- its so cozy and cute and warm I absolutely loved it, this is a new comfort movie for me
I'm in Canada and can't find a reliable way to stream it. I'd like to have a downloaded copy on a hard drive but am unsure where I can purchase one.
Anyone know where I can buy a download?
Edit: thanks everyone! I actually have already seen it and have streamed it several times. What I'm looking for specifically is a digital copy I can keep on a hard drive that is not encrypted to only play on something like iTunes. I've never done the illegal download thing so I don't know how to avoid downloading a virus if it gets through my protection, so I was hoping to just buy the unencrypted file. I think I might just have to bite the bullet and buy a dvd and rip it onto my hard drive (and phone respectively).
Thank you for all the suggestions everyone:)
Not certain whether this is a new addition, but wanted to mention it to HR fans looking for something to watch that doesn’t cost extra! (Well, assuming you have a Hulu subscription.)
I really wanted to watch the 1995 mini series but I can’t seem to find a website to watch it. I tried putlocker and even 123movies but they either don’t have it or you have to make an account for it. If anyone any suggestions, it would truly help.
Today is the last day that Pride and Prejudice 2005 will be on Netflix in the US ☹️ It is moving to HBO Max, but it doesn’t have a specific date. It just says coming soon on the website.
It kind of sucks because I like Netflix‘s user interface more than any other streaming site. I did buy it off Amazon, but I don’t like Prime’s interface as much.
Still so weird it was only on Netflix for three months. But then again I don’t normally pay that much attention lol
This week we are watching probably the most famous version of Pride & Prejudice.
My lovely wife will be picking the movies for the polls this month, and this is the first one to win it. I, for one, am interested to watch this movie as I have never seen it. I've heard it is one of the better romance movies out there and Matthew Macfaydon and Keira Knightly are in it, so that's defiantly a plus.
Give this a watch this week and let us know what you thought about it.
What the title said. I’d love to own the 4k remaster of 1995 Pride and Prejudice, but the only place I’ve seen it is on BritBox. Is it a subscription exclusive? If so, that’s really depressing.
Edit: I should specify that I’m in the US!
