We have all white Corelle dishes that were passed down from my grandmother (so definitely older than 2005). Corelle says they should be display only but I’ve also (anecdotally) heard the lead is in the paint (edit: of which there is none). Should we be replacing them?
If so, any recommendations?
Edit: I would never keep a plate with lead. I was mostly asking if anyone knew if our plates might be affected and it seems that our exact set has tested negative, except the mugs which we will get rid of. We are going to try and figure out how to test them, if possible, ourselves though, and I’ll share our findings if we do.
Edit 2: Called a toxicologist in the family who agreed the home test kits are worthless in this instance, and that lead has traditionally been in colors, and white has traditionally been lead-free titanium dioxide. Said white non-embellished plates with no chips or scratches should be safe to use.
