Replacing whirlpool dryer heating element, wire connect help
They hook up pretty much how you are holding them. Reds to the silver , orange to the middle brass terminal. That upper red one looks like it may need a new terminal though. Make sure they fit on the terminal tight. If they are loose you can try to tighten them up by gently pinching them closed tighter with some pliers before pushing them on the terminals. Need help replacing a heating element in old Whirlpool dryer
There is supposed to be a little metal clip that goes into that little slot at the top of the element housing and gets screwed to a spot under the top (you will see the screw holes if you open the top, besides that I'm pretty sure there are just a couple hooks that the bottom hooks onto to hold it in place. Before you screw around with anything make sure its unplugged, that's 240v and a shit ton of amps which is enough to kill you a hundred times over. Those two wires that hook on at the top of the housing are actually for the high limit, if the housing overheats that blows and kills power to the element. Also, the element you got is the new replacement for that style of dryer. How much did the guy quote you to fix it and how much was his service call? Just for curiosity's sake. More on reddit.com
