Hey all,

I'm hoping to get some advice on using IKEA’s HEJSTA glass doors (15 x 40") in a project, but I’m running into a bit of an issue with the SEKTION wall cabinets....

1. They only come in white

2. They only have a 14.75" depth

...neither of which work for me. I’m really hoping to use these beautiful anthracite/reeded glass doors but need a cabinet box in a darker color (preferably dark grey or black) and about 10" deep.

Are there any companies out there that make custom upper cabinet boxes designed to fit IKEA doors – idealyy in dark grey / black – like the opposite of Semihandmade / Superfront?

Or would it be better to approach a local millworker and have custom boxes made to fit these doors? I’d love to hear your recommendations if you’ve done something similar or know of any brands that offer the cabinet boxes I need.

>> UPDATE: A sales rep from Semihandmade recommended a company called Swedeboxx that makes cabinets that are compatible with Ikea doors.

It looks like have a few colors to choose from and in their FAQ, it says they offer the option to order custom sizes. I have reached out and will let you all know how that goes!

I wanted to build a horizontal floating display shelf with glass doors to keep out dust. Are the Eket glass doors able to get attached to this cabinet if it's mounted horizontally? How much of a gap would there be? I'm willing to drill holes if necessary.
