I stopped in costco to check out their kirkland brand hearing aids.

Right now, they are no longer selling these popular hearing aids.

The clerk told me it was a parts problem, the internet reported problems with charging/battery or Sonova International quit supplying them for costco.

Perhaps a new model is coming, but who knows for sure what is going on.

Phonak has announced they've pulled their Sonova brand from "big box stores," which would include Costco. I haven't heard if Costco has found a manufacturer to replace it yet.

There were rumors of supply shortages and some of the newer serial batches of power components being defective. There were never conclusive fixes found for the issues so Costco was the main driver behind Sonova being removed from Costco. Currently, there are no rumors about OTC hearing aids inside Costco. They are not recommended over prescription devices and are only meant for a smaller subset of hearing losses regardless. Costco is not big on cost over quality, so I doubt that will ever be a case when they are the largest provider of hearing aids in the USA; they don’t need to water down their model. Unsure of Kirkland brand even coming back. I heard they were doing better without the Kirkland brand devices from a metric/numbers perspective, so I really believe they could decide to not go that route. Philips hearing aids have taken over the penetration from my perspective post-Kirkland brand removal.
