So my current iPhone SE has abysmal battery performance. Like SOT of 3h 30m and then the thing is kaputt. Needless to say, as someone that uses their phone regularly and needs it last a full day without charging (and would prefer it to even last a couple of days without charge), the SE just isn't fit for purpose anymore for me. I've had it since May 2020, and it has been the worst device I have ever owned full stop literally only due to the battery. The phone itself is fine, but the battery is awful.
Anyway, so I am going to be trading this SE in for a new phone end of September/ early October (which I am aware is when the new iPhone's will release and hence a price drop in these phones is highly likely). However, I am on the edge of which phone to buy. To make it easier for you guys to give me a solid opinion, I'll list what I'm really looking for in a new phone:
Long battery life. The longer the better. If I don't need to charge it every day, perfect.
Decent camera. I don't take pictures often, but when I do, it's nice to take one in high def. Don't need any fancy-schmancy camera options, just one that can take a good looking, crisp landscape and/ or portrait picture.
Future proofing. The phone I get next month will be the last phone I get for the foreseeable future. Unless my next phone literally blows up in my hand, I won't be buying another. Hence, I need one that is going to serve me for a long while (2 years or preferably longer). I understand iOS limits how long phones are viable for, so iPhone 11 may be the obvious winner here, but I want to hear your thoughts regardless.
Now in regards to the price drops we can expect to see come the next gen of iPhone's release, I am wondering if the iPhone XR will be removed from the official Apple store webpage entirely and replaced with the new gen of iPhone's, making the 11 the oldest available option on the store. For that reason, I'm kind of wondering if I'll even be able to buy an XR after the next gen release, at least off the Apple store. That kept in mind, depending on how much the next gen of iPhone's slashes the iPhone 12 prices, I may even be in the market for that as well, so any info on the iPhone 12 additionally would be nice, but no worries if not.
Help a guy out and recommend me a new iPhone ;)
