This has been driving me nuts for months too, and today I figured out that when I press Command+F (in that order), the F key press doesn't register. However, if I flip the order by pressing F + Command, it works again. That seems to "reset" something so that I'm able to continue using Command+F for the rest of that session. I hope this helps!

TL;DR
- remove
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db - restart in safe mode
- restart again in normal mode
- PROFIT
and i'm not sure about deleting file, please someone check it
Many times the keyboard shortcut CMD+F does not work when searching for a text string.
Instead i have to click on edit -> find to get to the search box.
Anyone else encountered this issue in Arc browser under macOS?

Non Techie here, so pretend you're answering this like you're talking to a five year old. Or a Dodo...
I have a 2020 27-inch iMac...finally upgraded a month ago or so to Sequoia 15.1.1. Everything's been going smoothly until sometime late this afternoon.
I'm an artist/photographer/writer, and if I need to find an image/document/folder, etc., I've always just hit 'command + F', typed in the image or folder name, and it appears.
Not today/tonight. I can't even "find" an image or folder that's clearly on my desktop.
Unsure of what happened, but would sincerely appreciate any tips or advice.
Thanks in advance.
I have recently downloaded MacOs Mojave onto my Macbook Pro Retina (Early 2015) and I just discovered that when I open a PDF using the "Preview App", downloaded from my University's online library, and use the command + F feature to find certain keywords, when I type in a keyword it shows up "No Results".
I even typed in basic keywords that I know the PDF document has, as a test. Keywords such as "The", "and" & "or" and yet it still does not show up with the "Find" feature.
Was wondering if anyone had the same issue, and if you did, how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks for reading through!
the shortcut for CMD + F for find, CMD + C and CMD + V for copy paste dont work suddenly. Anyone have an answer? I went into keyboard shortcut settings and made sure everything was restored for default. I do have the toggle to Mac on the Halo 75 and it is wired into my Mac.
Based on nothing more than your brief description this sounds like expected behavior...
When Command+F is used & a term is typed into the Search field that content becomes highlighted when return is pressed. As long as nothing is done to shift focus from the Search field [such as clicking in the document window] the term remains highlighted. The content of the field is retained until the clear [🅧] button is clicked.
Using the keystroke again is completely unnecessary - just type the new term then press return.
If the keystroke is executed while focus is on the Search field the only response is that the name of the Edit field will blink. If the content in the Search field isn't highlighted the highlight will be applied as well. [NOTE: If no content is in the field when the keystroke is used the action is to toggle the Find feature Off.]
Dear Neeeaw,
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.
From your description, we understand that when you use shortcut keys to search text in PowerPoint for Mac, if you switch applications, the shortcut keys will not work.
In our tests, nothing like this happened, we can still use Cmd+F to search for text after switching apps.
Please check if there is any update of your PowerPoint first, if so, please update to the latest version to see if you still encounter this problem: Update Office for Mac automatically (microsoft.com)
Also, please try starting up your Mac in safe mode to check whether background programs are interfering with Office for Mac.
Ref: How to use a "clean startup" to determine whether background programs are interfering with Office for Mac (microsoft.com)
If this situation persists, please also inform the following information:
- Version information of your PowerPoint.
- Does this happen to other Office apps as well?
- Could you see the search symbol in the upper right corner, could you share a screenshot with us?
Sincerely,

I've been using an external keyboard with my macbook pro for almost a year now, until a couple of days ago when the command key suddenly does not work anymore (every other key works). The keyboard is fine and the command key works with other computers, but will not for some reason work with my macbook pro. The command key on the macbook itself still works though.
Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
