Hi Everyone,
I made a blogpost on how to upgrade to Windows 11 using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
I myself use the built-in policies to upgrade to Windows 11, but have seen some cases where organizations do not use Windows Update to patch their systems.
I’ve also seen cases where a device does not want to upgrade, even though the policy has been assigned for several days.
This solution uses ServiceUI to still allow the user to interact with the restart pop-up at the end of the installation.

Hey Everyone!
as the title suggests i am trying to update my laptop's OS from windows 10(version 22H2) to windows 11 and all of the tutorials on here that I've read seem a bit advanced. so can someone please be a darling and write a detailed step by step tutorial on how to update it (while keeping all of my existing files/data).

From my experience, if it is compatible for Win 11, you will have an upgrade button on the Windows Update screen. You just tell it to upgrade. If you have no upgrade option, your machine may not be compatible. Still, if not showing an option there, download the migration assistant. If it is uncompatible, you can force it onto the machine .

You have nothing to do. If your computer is compatible, Windows 10 will tell you when it's ready to install Windows 11, you confirm and that's all. It won't remove your apps or files in the process, but you might still want to make a backup of anything important, just in case.

I am having issues installing important updates to my Windows 11 , and an idea that came to mind was to use the latest Windows 11 Installation Assistant. Though i'm also a bit paranoid to if it's gonna erase all my data or do something unpleasant like that, so what happens if i do that? (And in case that leads to an unpleasant issue, any help with updating my Windows 11 Machine?)

Assuming you're not using a Windows 11 build higher than the current public release build (e.g. you're not subscribed to Insider Preview), it'll perform an in-place upgrade, essentially installing a fresh copy of Windows, then migrating your data over to this new install. By default, it'll keep your user data and apps, but in the last step (before starting the install), there's an option you can change in case you want to delete everything. If you run the tool on a Windows 11 build higher than the current release build, the only option it'll offer is to create a install media (e.g. USB or ISO) to use in other computer...
